Today we had a really great training meeting with other Rebuilding Together affiliates from the NorCal region (and one representative who came all the way from Reno!). Our trainer, Phil Anderson, is a longtime volunteer and a contractor with HDR Remodelers, and he gave us a fascinating and relevant introduction to the concepts of “healthy homes” — including a lot of things, from grab bar installation to lead remediation, that we already do here at RTOakland! It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas with other people working to improve homes and lives, and learn some new skills at the same time.
